Nov 12, 2018: [Malawi] In the forests of Malawi, women walk long distances to find dry wood for cooking and heating their homes. But, Sr. Jane's innovative idea solves this common problem and now she's teaching the recipe women in her community.

Since 2002, the Sisters of St. Therese have been providing victim-offender prison care support alongside other employees and volunteers. The sisters work tirelessly to ensure the respect of the rights of inmates and a smooth reintegration into society. The sisters use a holistic approach to prison pastoral care. Here, they pose with inmates and their children at a Christmas party they organized.

Sep 12, 2018: [Kenya] Sr. Faith Kamau, HESA student, is using her education to help the children and residents of the Nyumbani Village orphanage.

The balance of schoolwork and recreational activities at Kenya children's home, Kwetu Home of Peace, keeps the boys happy and eager to learn. So while they learn subjects like English, they can still participate in some of their favorite activities, including gymnastics and singing.

The Ripple Effect of ASEC Programs in Tanzania

Apr 19, 2018: [Tanzania] A reflection on ASEC programs in Tanzania, what it means for sisters and how the "ripple effect" benefits to the entire country.

On Tuesday, January 16, ASEC signed a framework of reference with The Catholic University of Easter Africa (CUEA) to renew their commitment to empower Catholic sisters through education. The FOR was signed on CUEA's campus in Nairobi, Kenya.

Apr 4, 2018: [Kenya] ASEC renews partnership with CUEA through a Framework of Reference (FOR) to continue to support the education of religious sisters in Africa.

Veritas University, one of Nigeria’s fastest growing private universities is situated at the heart of Bwari, outskirts of Abuja in Nigeria. The university, owned by the Catholic Church, has three faculties with eight departments. ASEC partnered with Veritas University in 2015 for sisters to studying through the Higher Education for Sisters in Africa (HESA) Program. Through this partnership sisters can select from various bachelor's’ degree programs relevant to their ministries, such as education, accounting, political science and diplomacy.
