Finance Manager
The Finance Manager will provide overall accounting functions for ASEC and is the financial specialist for the organization. This role will manage ASEC finances and the of Hilton Grant Funds and provide daily oversight to the HESA and SLDI grants awarded by the Hilton Foundation. The Finance Manager is involved in the planning and implementation of organizational policies for preparing Budget and financial statements in accordance with the industry standards. This role works closely with Marywood University’s fiscal department. The Finance Manager role will include general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, account receivable, accounts payable, and billing. The Finance Manager gives financial information that helps the Executive Director to take financial decisions.
The position holds high financial accountability and is responsible for tracking & monitoring of budget but does not authorize expenditures. This position is responsible for monitoring financial expenditures within the organization but does not have access to all expenditures based on the fact that Marywood University has overall responsibility for several of the grants.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required and Master's degree is an added advantage.
Experience/Technical Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a finance manager or related field
- Strong computer software skills, proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong non-profit accounting skills and strategic thinking with a big-picture mentality
- Proficient in QuickBooks, preferable in non-profit accounting
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to finance administration
- Experience in grant management and budget development
- Ability to communicate in non-financial language and can translate and teach financial literacy
- Frequently prepares written financial reports; must be able to communicate in writing especially to the Executive Director and the Finance Committee of the Board
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, ability to make independent decisions
- Must be able to communicate verbally and demonstrate good customer relations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner
- Demonstrated interest and/or familiarity in international development
- Cross-Cultural competence
