Justice for All - Nuns advocate for the rights of the marginalized in Africa

Jan 6, 2020: [Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria] SLDI and HESA alumnae are at the forefront of social change and the promotion of justice, as they address injustice in their communities.

A lack of clean water affects nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide, the majority of which live in isolated rural areas. Water scarcity prevents many children, especially girls, from receiving an education.

Thanks to Sr. Immaculata, the library now serves over 3,000 students and staff. Through the power of reading, children now have access to books filled with knowledge.

Mar 4, 2019: [Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, SouthSudan, Tanzania] Catholic Sisters are using their education to build infrastructure in Africa as they work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG 9): Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

After three years (2016-2018) of learning to skills to better serve their communities and congregations, 95 religious women from across Nigeria graduated from the SLDI program with the drive to put their new skills into action.

Education is the Gift That Keeps Giving

This year alone, ASEC facilitated a total of 36 SLDI Workshops in ten countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Above are some of our SLDI students from Kenya, Zambia, Malawi and Nigeria.
