One Sister’s Solutions to a War Torn South Sudan

May 24, 2021: [SouthSudan, Uganda] Sr. Faida noticed how difficult it was for her neighbors to obtain healthy food during lockdown. So, she and the sisters taught them how to plant vegetables using sacks and broken buckets on their veranda.

Two Sister Candidates Selected for ASEC Pilot Ph.D. Program

Oct 21, 2020: [Kenya, SouthSudan] Two doctoral sister-students selected for the pilot phase of ASEC's Ph.D. Scholarship Program. They will be pursuing their doctoral degrees at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Kenya.

Over 90 million (nearly 11%) of the undernourished population are children under five years old.

Financing the Future Generation

When the Teacher Becomes the Student: Serving a Desperately Understaffed School

Feb 18, 2018: [SouthSudan] When Sr. Lucy arrived at the school she was eager to help mold young minds, but she never imagined that, in the end, it was her mind that would be molded.

Sr. Rose was laid to rest in Juba, South Sudan, on March 30, 2017. Sr. Lina Wanjiku, ASEC East African Director and Sr. Mary Germina Keneema, ASEC Uganda Director, attended on ASEC's behalf.

Apr 4, 2017: [SouthSudan] ASEC staff attended the mass and burial of our friend and colleague Sr. Rose Jane Adiero, ASEC's Director in South Sudan. Sr. Rose devoted much of her life to teaching and ministering children.
