Sr. Elizabeth Balala SDP
Program Coordinator - MalawiSr. Elizabeth Balala (SDP) is a Malawian religious sister who belongs to the Congregation of the Sisters of Divine Providence, founded in Münster, Germany, by diocesan priest Fr. Eduard Michelis on November 3, 1842. She joined religious life in 2004 as a formee and made her first vows on November 10, 2007.
After four years of service in the sisterhood, she enrolled at the Catholic University of Malawi in 2012 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in Linguistics and Literature on September 24, 2016. In 2018, she was employed by the Malawi Government as a secondary school teacher, where she taught English and Life Skills Education for seven years. During this time, she also served her congregation as Regional Secretary.
Sr. Elizabeth is an ASEC alumna from the 2019 to 2021 cohort, where she gained skills in basic technology and administration. She later joined the ASEC staff on November 24, 2025, assuming the role of ASEC Program Coordinator for Malawi.
Sr. Elizabeth enjoys innovation, adapting to change, choir singing, dancing, traveling to discover new places, and making new friends.
