Grateful Hearts: A Gift of Learning for African Sisters

African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC)

Through her heartfelt poem, Sr. Anastacia Oyieko, FSHJ, expresses deep gratitude for the transformative impact of ASEC. With every opportunity given, Sisters are igniting hope, building bridges, and creating lasting impact—empowered to serve, uplift, and heal communities across Africa.

In the hush of prayer and toil, a gift was given,
A thread of hope, a balm for deepest pain,
A light to pierce through shadows we have known.
From Africa’s shores, our thanks now rise,
Our hearts, like soaring birds, are lifted high
With hands of grace, we labour daily.

O Mother ASEC, you heard our plea,
You raised us to help the world to grow.
You imparted knowledge, a treasure to be
shared.

Thank you, ASEC, for your loving hands,
For sowing seeds that blossom in this land.
A beacon bright that guides through life’s pains.

Igniting Hope, Building Bridges, Creating Impact
Through education, we strive to heal and uplift,
From Kenya's plains to all parts of Africa,
We carry your gift to show how love fulfils.
It’s the promise of a world where all arise,
Where those who suffer find their voice.

For every sister in distant lands,
Your gift has set us on a higher strand,
For the Support to women religious in Africa,
Empowerment programs for maximum impact,
HESA, SLDI, Scholarship Program, ICB, Service
Learning, Research Initiative,
Thank you, ASEC, for your generous heart.

Your Support Fuels This Mission.

When you educate a Sister, you empower an entire community. ASEC’s programs—HESA, SLDI, Scholarships, ICB, Service Learning, and Research—equip women religious with the tools to lead, heal, and create sustainable change.
