Nov 2, 2020: [Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia] African nuns are reaching major academic achievements while amplifying their influence on some of the biggest challenges facing African society.

Two Sister Candidates Selected for ASEC Pilot Ph.D. Program

Oct 21, 2020: [Kenya, SouthSudan] Two doctoral sister-students selected for the pilot phase of ASEC's Ph.D. Scholarship Program. They will be pursuing their doctoral degrees at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Kenya.

Sr. Rita was awarded an ASEC Two-Year Scholarship to attend the Kasama College of Education to pursue her diploma in Primary Education. Upon graduating, she felt well prepared to teach Zambian children at the primary school level.

Women Religious are Healing Africa Through Health and Wellness

Sep 7, 2020: [Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia] Catholic sisters are providing much needed health and wellness services throughout Africa.

Since Sr. Anastasia received her Bachelor’s of Clinical Science via ASEC's Scholarship program, she's been serving in a rural place providing professional healthcare to patients who otherwise would not have access to treatment.

Nun Provides Healthcare Services in a Place Where Doctors Shun to Go

Mar 30, 2020: [Zambia] Sr. Anastasia provides obstetric, gynecological and surgical treatment to patients who would otherwise have limited to no access to medical care.

In celebration of their academic success, Bigwa students received the gift of 10 desktop computers from ASEC donors so they can continue to excel in their studies. As you can see, the students are so grateful to our donors!

Bigwa Secondary School in Tanzania achieves academic excellence

Mar 23, 2020: [Tanzania] Bigwa Sisters Seminary Secondary School receives “Most Improved Schools” award for high academic performance.

The grant will be used for education scholarships for Catholic Sisters in Africa; especially those working in fields related to healthcare and teaching.

ASEC's Scholarship Program expands to Ghana

Mar 16, 2020: [Ghana] ASEC will now fund scholarships for Catholic Sisters in Ghana who wish to pursue degrees and training for special education.

11 ASEC-sponsored students graduated from Bigwa Secondary School in Morogoro, Tanzania with their 27 classmates (May 18, 2019).

In 2018, 46 students graduated from Bigwa Seminary Secondary School in Tanzania. 29 of those students were able to graduate because of the ASEC two year Bigwa scholarship.

Jun 14, 2017: [Tanzania] ASEC donors supported the scholarships of 22 students who successfully graduated from Bigwa Secondary School in April, 2017. Sr. Maria discusses the success of Bigwa school in the area of society development.
