Assistant Development Director
African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) is a 501(c)3 organization based at Marywood University in Scranton, PA, that operates in ten countries in Africa. Through its mission, ASEC educates Catholic women religious in Africa to strengthen their leadership capacity and provide services that address local and global challenges.
To support ASEC in its mission, the Assistant Director of Development will be responsible for successfully expanding and implementing the goals of the development program. In collaboration with the Director of Development, the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Assistant Director of Development will develop new relationships while maintaining and growing existing ones and building the organization's visibility, impact, and philanthropic resources. The Assistant Director will be responsible for raising private, corporate, and foundation funding to support ASEC's initiatives that provide access to education for women religious in Africa while executing organization-wide strategies to increase fundraising capacity. Additionally, this position will be responsible and accountable for leading ASEC's major gifts initiative, The Path to Sustainability.
Requirements
The ideal candidate for Assistant Director of Development Position has:
- Bachelors degree in Development and /or Business Management related fields
- At least 3 years of development experience and can motivate others (e.g. donors, staff,
volunteers, and community leaders) to support ASEC through their meaningful
contribution of gifts and talents, as well as a proven track record in soliciting and
securing major gifts and building productive relationships with a variety of
constituents. - Potential and capacity to solicit for major and planned gifts, support donor
stewardship, volunteer cultivation, corporate philanthropic support, constituent
communications, and social media functions for development.
