Sep 30, 2020: [USA] In September, 2020, ASEC held the inaugural ICR Conference, which provided an opportunity for researchers around the globe to collaborate in the initiation of an international network of research on religious life.

Sr. Felicity Tanko is an alumna of ASEC's Higher Education for Sisters in Africa (HESA) program. She recently completed her degree in Nursing from ASEC partner institution, the Catholic University of Cameroon, Bamenda (CUCB). Sr. Felicity is a member of the congregation The Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

COVID-19 Impact on Healthcare and Education Workers: A Phenomenological Case Study in West Africa

Sep 28, 2020: [Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria] The ASEC Research Initiative's 2nd COVID-19 research study related explores the impact on healthcare and education workers in the West African countries of Cameroon, Ghana and Nigeria.

Sr. Irene died from COVID-19 on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Mulago Hospital in Uganda. A memorial service and burial was held on Monday, September 7.

Jul 28, 2020: [Cameroon, Kenya, USA] An SHCJ/ASEC joint effort provides financial support to African sisters responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and serving the poor and vulnerable in their communities.

A successful grant proposal by ASEC staff member Sr. Teresa Mulenga, TS, provides members of 5 HIV/AIDS support groups in Malawi with sanitation materials like tap buckets and soap. The members were also taught proper hand-washing techniques to keep them healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ASEC's Scholarship Program expands to Ghana
