A fire at the ASEC-supported Bigwa Secondary School in Morogoro, Tanzania, destroyed the girls’ dormitory, leaving students without clothing, school supplies, sanitary items, personal belongings, and bedding materials. Thankfully, all students and staff are safe. But the school community now faces the difficult task of recovering and rebuilding.
We urgently appeal for your financial support for the Bigwa school community during this challenging time. Your donation will help provide students with the basic necessities they lost and support the school community as it begins to rebuild. Every contribution, regardless of size, will help replace essential items that students need for sleeping, dressing, personal hygiene, health, and daily life as they recover from the loss.
Emergency Support Cost Breakdown
Following the fire, 118 students need essential bedding, clothing, personal items, and access to clean water. The estimated cost to replace these necessities is $34,824.28.
