This prestigious award, established in 2003 by the University of Notre Dame, recognizes individuals who have dedicated their lives to sustaining and strengthening Catholic education.

On October 3, 2024, the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) hosted its 25th Jubilee Dinner in Washington, D.C., celebrating its legacy of empowering Catholic sisters through education to address local and global challenges, allowing them to become leaders across Africa.

The African Sisters Education Collaborative has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Conference of Major Religious Superiors Zimbabwe, marking the 11th country in ASEC’s mission to empower Catholic sisters across Africa.

[Malawi, Tanzania]
The Higher Education for Sisters in Africa (HESA) program has helped education for women religious in Africa make strides, despite education for women in Africa facing significant barriers. In 2023, over 200 sisters graduated from HESA programs, overcoming challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and contributing to their communities’ development and gender equality.
