On Tuesday, January 16, ASEC signed a framework of reference with The Catholic University of Easter Africa (CUEA) to renew their commitment to empower Catholic sisters through education. The FOR was signed on CUEA's campus in Nairobi, Kenya.

Nov 20, 2017: [Uganda, USA] A warm ASEC welcome to our newly appointed ASEC Executive Director, Sr. Draru Mary Cecilia, LSMIG, Ph.D. Sr. Draru began her position in the Scranton USA offices on Monday, November 20, 2017.

Catholic sisters participate in financial management training in Malawi

2nd Visiting Scholar Selected for CARA Research Fellowship

Oct 3, 2017: [Nigeria] Sr. Florence Emurayeveya, EHJ, arrived at Georgetown University this month for her six month research fellowship with The Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA). She plans to visit ASEC Headquarters in December.

Fighting for Human Trafficking Victims in the Middle East

Sep 14, 2017: [Cameroon] Sr. Vanaja and her organization identify Cameroonian trafficking victims in the Middle East and bring them home. On June 27, 2017, SLDI alumna Sr. Vanaja received an award in recognition of her unrelenting efforts to combat modern slavery.

SLDI participants in Nigeria take educational field trips as part of training
