The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation awarded the African Sisters Education Collaborative and Marywood University a $3.85 million grant for the Higher Education for Sisters in Africa (HESA) project.
Three-day alumni workshops held in six countries
Three-day workshops were held in six countries (Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia) in early 2013 as part of the SLDI Alumni Association’s continued support to SLDI graduates.

SLDI awarded grant through Conrad N. Hilton Foundation
ASEC and Marywood University were awarded a grant from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to continue delivering the Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI) program.
SLDI Graduations 2012
Phase II of SLDI (2010-2012) served 250 women religious from 176 congregations in seven countries. Of the 250 women religious, 237 successfully completed the course and graduated in colorful, well-attended ceremonies held in each country.
SLDI Poster Session
In August 2012, sisters from East Africa – Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania – had the opportunity to create and display posters reflecting the knowledge and skills that they gained by participating in the SLDI program.

Renewal of Hilton Grant for SLDI Phase II
Our grant for SLDI Phase II (2010-2013) and will provide technological and/or leadership skills to 400 African Sisters in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
ASEC Alumni Association Formed
To assist the sisters in becoming independent life-long learners and local leaders, an alumni association was formed with the participants from Phase I of the SLDI program
