ASEC calls for universal vaccination as a necessity and a human right for every individual across the globe.
The African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC), founded in 1999 by four U.S. Catholic colleges/universities and their founding Religious Congregations, provides leadership workshops and access to higher education for women religious in ten countries in sub-Saharan Africa. ASEC affirms the interconnections that bind the global community together and renders it one. This current pandemic makes it clear that the decisions each of us makes affect everyone else on the planet. In order to gain control of the virus, it is imperative that the COVID-19 vaccines be available to all the people of the world. We urge the President of the United States to use his considerable power and influence to make certain that all countries around the globe receive the COVID-19 vaccines so their citizens and all members of the global community can live healthy, safe, productive lives. Universal vaccination is a necessity and a human right.
