ASEC: Our Team

Sr. Mary Faida, SHS

Sr. Mary Faida is a South Sudanese sister belonging to the congregation of Sacred Heart Sisters (SHS). She graduated from ASEC's Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI) program in 2015, where she studied Basic Technology and Administration. Since graduating from SLDI, Sr. Mary has been accepted into ASEC's Higher Education for Sisters in Africa (HESA) program. She is currently studying at ASEC partner institution, Uganda Martyrs University, Nsambya branch, for her Bachelors degree in Nursing Science.

Using the grant-writing skills she learned, Sr. Mary was able to secure funding for several projects, ranging from medical care to trauma-informed formation to repairing the congregations solar power system and providing clean water and healthy food to her community.
