ASEC awarded $63,100 grant through Franciscan Sisters of Chicago. This is the third consecutive year the Franciscan Sisters have supported the Scholarship Program.
For 3 consecutive years, the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago have awarded ASEC a grant to support its scholarship program. This $63,100 grant will educate 104 sisters with high school and 2-year diploma scholarships over 3 consecutive years.
The grant is supporting sisters at the Bigwa Secondary School in Tanzania, as well as 40 sisters studying for 2-year degrees in Tanzania.
A portion of the grant is also supporting the development of online courses for sisters studying in Ghana and Nigeria.

Palliative care is largely recognized as essential to improving the quality of life of those with serious and often terminal illness, even if they may not be able to treat the root cause of their ailment.
ASEC donors supported the scholarships of 22 students who successfully graduated from Bigwa Secondary School in April, 2017. Sr. Maria discusses the success of Bigwa school in the area of society development.
