Sr. Maria Temu of the Missionary Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Institute of Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) in Mwanza. Upon meeting the university's requirements and receiving the recommendation of the Senate, she was awarded a Master of Business Administration degree at a congregation held in Mwanza in 2020. After completing her degree, she pursued additional training in basic computer skills and QuickBooks.
From 2021 to 2024, Sr. Maria worked in Bagamoyo, Coastal Region, Tanzania, serving as an administrator of pre-primary and secondary schools. Additionally, she held roles as a zonal coordinator and a delegate of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary, representing her mother General in the Tanzania Catholic Association of Sisters (TCAS). Outside of her professional responsibilities, Sr. Maria finds joy in reading the Bible, listening to gospel music, and participating in prayer group fellowships.
She harbors ambitions of raising animals such as pigs, cows, and chicks, as well as engaging in small businesses to support the institute where she works. In April 2024, Sr. Maria was offered the opportunity to serve as the director of the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) in Tanzania.
