Sr. Mamokotjo Francina Mokoteli, SNJM

Sister Mamokotjo Francina Mokoteli, SNJM, is a religious sister with the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, a congregation originating from Canada. Currently residing in Lesotho, she is a proud Mosotho. The fourth child in a family of ten, Sr. Francina’s upbringing instilled in her a deep spirit of caring and sharing.
These values were further nurtured through her participation in youth organizations over many years. Joining a religious congregation provided a new foundation for her roots to grow deeper and stronger, fueling her commitment to these values.
A teacher by profession, Sr. Francina has spent considerable time with young people, finding great joy in this role. However, her passion for service was truly ignited during her tenure as Chief Executive Officer at St. Angela Home for physically disabled children. She found profound fulfillment in contributing to the care and well-being of these special individuals.
In 2021, Sr. Francina graduated as a Laudato Si’ animator, inspiring her to dedicate part of her monthly schedule to promoting environmental awareness in parishes and villages, often utilizing radio media. Her involvement in campaigns and community empowerment, particularly among the youth, the needy, the homeless, and the marginalized, has reinforced her commitment to caring for Mother Earth.
Sr. Francina enjoys delivering speeches on topics such as the spirituality of work, Ubuntu living, and self-identity. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, singing, and reading.
