Sr. Joyce Kwamboka Nyakwama, SSND

Sr. Joyce Kwamboka Nyakwama is a Kenyan religious sister of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND). Before joining ASEC, she served in various administrative and leadership roles, including provincial leadership within her congregation, and as the principal of three girls’ high schools in Kenya and Nigeria. She has also been a member of the Manga District Education Board and the Pastoral Council of Gboko Diocese, Nigeria. With 20 years of high school teaching experience, 13 of which included administrative responsibilities, Sr. Joyce has a rich background in education.
She holds a Master of Education degree from Kenyatta University, specializing in Curriculum Development, a Bachelor of Education Science degree from St. Mary’s University, Minnesota, USA (focusing on Mathematics and Geography), as well as a Diploma in Education and a Diploma in Religious Studies from Tangaza University. Currently, Sr. Joyce is pursuing a PhD at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), specializing in Curriculum and Instruction.
Sr. Joyce is a strong believer in the transformative power of holistic education and is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential through this approach.
