Dr. LaKeisha Thorpe brings 16 years of experience as a higher education administrator and instructor, alongside a decade of research, teaching, writing, and public presentation. A deep commitment to wellness led her to become a RYT-200 certified yoga teacher.
Dr. Thorpe has taught college courses on cultural humility, racial and womanist theories, and arts-based research methodologies rooted in pop culture. She is passionate about social justice, access, and holistic, transdisciplinary approaches to navigating transcultural spaces and conflict — and is dedicated to creating space for uncomfortable conversations with grace and care.
She has presented and facilitated conversations nationally on equity, social justice, and wellness, and has served on numerous boards and committees. Her background also includes work as an editor, guest lecturer, and four years as a radio show host in Philadelphia, PA. She currently serves as Executive Co-Director of Culture, Strategy, and Green Business Development at Green America.
