Susan Gibbs

Susan Gibbs is a communications consultant who provides strategic counsel, crisis management, media relations and communications leadership for national and regional Catholic organizations. 

Prior to starting her own firm, Gibbs MediaWorks, LLC, she spent nearly 16 years as an archdiocesan director of communications, primarily with the Archdiocese of Washington, but also with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Diocese of Camden. 

Since 2011, she has worked with dioceses, universities, religious orders, pilgrimage centers, and healthcare and advocacy organizations.

She is a member of communication committees for the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America, is a past board member of the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) and serves on her parish council. She holds a certificate in reputation risk management and is regularly invited to present on crisis management.

She earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary and a Master in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
