Sr. Namusisi Teddy DM shares how ASEC’s scholarships and mentorship programs have transformed her life, enabling her to pursue higher education and equip herself with the skills to make a meaningful impact in the education sector.

I extend my deepest gratitude to the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) for their invaluable support and guidance, which opened the door for me to pursue higher education. ASEC was with me every step of the way during the application process and provided the scholarship funding I needed to make my university dreams a reality.

The knowledge and skills I have acquired through ASEC’s programs have proven to be incredibly valuable. I am learning cutting-edge theories and techniques that are essential for my future career. Beyond the academic content, ASEC has equipped me with essential soft skills such as critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.

Reflecting on my journey, I realize that without ASEC’s intervention, I would not be where I am today Their scholarships and mentorship programs have truly empowered me to unlock my full potential. I am profoundly grateful for this lifechanging opportunity and am eager to use my education to contribute positively to my community in the education sector.

In particular, I plan to implement effective teaching methodologies tailored for young learners, develop effective classroom management and student engagement strategies, and enhance my understanding of child development to better tailor my instruction. I’m also committed to integrating technology, hands-on learning, and diverse teaching aids into my lessons.

Furthermore, I hope to provide access to the latest research and teaching resources, facilitate mentorship and professional development opportunities for my colleagues, and connect with fellow primary educators to share best practices and collaborate on various initiatives. I am dedicated to offering guidance on educational policy, community engagement, and advocating for educational equity. Ultimately, I aspire to take on leadership roles, such as department head or curriculum coordinator, to further enhance the educational environment.

Thank you, ASEC, for empowering me and enabling me to pursue my passion for education.
