Service Learning Student Donates a Cow to the Bigwa School

Fri, Sep 9, 2011

As a result of her life-changing experience visiting the Bigwa Secondary School, one Service Learning student donated $1,000 to purchase a cow so that the students at the Bigwa School could benefit.

Cows are an important resource for sisters and for the communities that they serve. One cow can provide nourishing milk, and can also reproduce so that a precious natural resource can be shared.

As a result of her life-changing experience visiting the Bigwa Secondary School in Morogoro, Tanzania, one Service Learning student donated $1,000 to purchase a cow so that the students at the Bigwa School could benefit.

As a result of that one cow, calves were born, and now there are four cows, which make a big difference for the sisters and their lives.

The headmistress and students at the Bigwa School continue to express gratitude for the support provided to them for the gift of cows. Students have plenty of milk!

Be a Ray of Hope

Communities across Africa are counting on Catholic Sisters, but 48 lack the education needed to carry out their important mission work. You can be a Ray of Hope for a Sister who needs you by donating to her education today.
