Rosemont begins accepting sisters in the new collaboration with ASEC’s HESA program to provide a hybrid education

Rosemont College is the third ASEC collaboration to offer a hybrid of online and onsite learning for sisters in Africa. Sisters will study for a year online before transferring to either Veritas University College, Nigeria or Catholic University of Cameroon (CATUC) Bamenda. Before the start of the program, sisters participate in a three week orientation designed to enhance technological skills, outline expectations and create a community of support. Catherine (Cathie) Coleman-Dickson, MBA, Director of Business, Leadership, Healthcare Administration Programs, and Global Studies at Rosemont College’s School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS) in Rosemont, Pennsylvania will be providing an introductory class for online learning to sisters in the HESA Program in November in Ghana, Africa.

Cathie hopes to provide the sisters with the course specific concepts and practices of online learning while creating an online community for the sisters to share their personal and academic experiences long after the introductory class has ended. Cathie envisions integrating an academic agenda to individual learning experiences, from the classroom to real life situations that will enable the sisters to successfully contribute in and confidently accomplish their online curricula. Cathie is both humbled and honored to be part of the HESA sisters academic journey.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Rosemont College and Veritas University College in Nigeria on May 3, 2016. Another MOU was signed between Rosemont College and Catholic University of Cameroon Bamenda on July 5, 2016.

Catherine Coleman-Dickson, MBA is the Director of Business, Leadership, Healthcare Administration Programs, and SGPS Global Studies at Rosemont College in the School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS).

Be a Ray of Hope

Communities across Africa are counting on Catholic Sisters, but 48 lack the education needed to carry out their important mission work. You can be a Ray of Hope for a Sister who needs you by donating to her education today.
