ASEC's Scholarship Program expands to Ghana

Mar 16, 2020: [Ghana] scholarship ASEC will now fund scholarships for Catholic Sisters in Ghana who wish to pursue degrees and training for special education.

Srs. Gisele and Lucy developed a project to serve families living in urban poverty in the slums of Kenya. The project focuses on microloans for women, small business development and education of at-risk children.

Reducing Poverty Through Microloans for Women in Kenya

Mar 9, 2020: [Kenya] success Srs. Gisele and Lucy are using the skills they learned in ASEC's SLDI program to provide microloans for Kenyan women living in urban poverty.

Through the foundation of their education, ASEC and SLDI alumnae consistently provide a stable foundation for the building up of other women and their surrounding communities. Here, SLDI alumna Sr. Judith Mwango, FMDM, is winnowing with local women farmers in Zambia.

Nuns in Africa Spearhead Women's Empowerment Projects
