Phase II of SLDI (2010-2012) served 250 women religious from 176 congregations in seven countries. Of the 250 women religious, 237 successfully completed the course and graduated in colorful, well-attended ceremonies held in each country.
Phase II of SLDI (2010-2012) served 250 women religious from 176 congregations in seven countries. Of the 250 women religious, 237 successfully completed the course and graduated in colorful, well-attended ceremonies held in each country. The number of sisters and their country were as follows:
- Ghana, 36
- Kenya, 41
- Nigeria, 45
- Tanzania, 36
- Uganda, 38
- Zambia, 37
- Southern Sudan, 4
Graduates received a certificate in administrative leadership or financial management during their respective graduations. Graduations were attended by superiors, bishops, priests, sisters, and friends of the graduating class. This marked a significant milestone for the graduates; they expressed a high level of self-esteem, confidence, satisfaction, and a sense of accomplishment. Phase II participants have raised over $1.1 million for their ministries.
The graduation ceremonies took place at different times throughout the year as follows:
Kenya – July 28, 2012 – 41 graduates
Nigeria – August 25, 2012 – 45 graduates
Ghana – September 15, 2012 – 36 graduates
Uganda – October 27, 2012 – 38 graduates
Tanzania – December 1, 2012 – 36 graduates
Zambia – December 22, 2012 – 37 graduates
