ASEC’s Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI) program is a way to effectively learn administration and finance skills for the religious Sisters in Malawi. I am very grateful to ASEC for initiating this education program, because technology is changing fast and it is affecting the sisters in Malawi. Now, because of the SLDI program I am able to use the computer and internet without any challenge. I am able to teach others how to operate the computer. Our sisters are becoming more advanced in technology.
Through this course, I have received a laptop that I never thought of having in my life. Now with the computer, I will be able to work in my office without problems. Before SLDI, I didn’t have access the internet, but now am doing a lot and I am able to teach others how to operate the computer. I also learnt more about website design. This has helped me to insert pictures onto the website and other documents, including cards and brochures.
Based on the knowledge and skills acquired through the ASEC program, I have gained confidence that even if am transferred to work in any field that needs similar technological skills, I will be able to accept the post without troubling my Superior.
I am therefore expressing my gratitude to ASEC –SLDI management and the donors who are sponsoring this program to empower religious Sisters in Malawi. Our sisters are well advanced in technology.
I wish you all the best as you think about sisters in Malawi and other Sisters in Africa to progress well in our way of life that makes us eager to serve the Lord in his vineyard.
