ASEC: Our Team
Amy Fedele
Media & Communications ManagerAreas of Expertise: graphic design, website design, usability, internet marketing, writing
An old proverb says,
“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Alleviating poverty by facilitating self-sufficiency is a core principle that drew me to this position at ASEC. It is through education that individuals are able to thrive and do great things for the people they serve. My own passion for learning and empowering others makes me feel a strong connection to the work being done at ASEC.
My professors and mentors at King’s College are the ones that “taught me to fish.” Through them, I have developed my interests into a unique combination of design expertise, technical web knowledge and a fierce love for marketing strategy. Their practical advice for how to succeed as a communications professional helped me to rise from just an intern to Art Director, leading creative teams at two separate agencies. My award-winning portfolio showcases the effect of my work in aggregate; both professionally and as a recognized contributor to design communities worldwide.
I am an inspired person who loves to inspire others. My own passion for learning fuels my gravitation towards mentoring, teaching and speaking opportunities, where I can share my experience others. Passionate and philanthropic at my core, I am enthusiastic to help others create a bigger impact in the world. I am excited for the opportunity to carry my experiences further in support of the mission and goals of ASEC.
My position at ASEC is an exciting one! I am responsible for telling the story of ASEC and getting our story out to the world so more people can hear about the great work this organization is doing. I do this by interviewing stakeholders and curating content written by our program participants and alumna in Africa. I share that content the website, e-newsletters and in printed materials and newsletters. I'm also the "face" behind all of our social media accounts-- I look forward to talking with you there soon!
