I was assigned the responsibility of project development in the entire Congregation which included the projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania."

Sister Anne Mukundi is the treasurer in her congregation. She writes “I am grateful to SLDI for the opportunity given to me to attend the course at Tumaini Centre on Project Management.  It was an eye opener for me.  I have accomplished so much for the Congregation and the people we serve.  I was assigned the responsibility of project development in the entire Congregation which included the projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Some of these projects include: nursery, primary and vocational schools, water issues and farming just to mention a few. The skills I gained in the SLDI program helped me and the sisters in the community. We have been able to write grants and raise funds for the following projects:

  • Water tanks and gutters from the Whiter fathers (Missionaries of Africa), USA, for the purpose of harvesting rain water which was destroying the building of the nursery school.  Amount,  $8274.72
  • Funds to sink a borehole from the Hilton Funds for Sisters, USA. The borehole is providing clean water in Kibiko, Kenya for local community and the sisters.  Amount $15,000.
  • Funds from the Kindermissio Werk – Germany for the purpose of construction of nursery school in Zinga Bagamoyo, Tanzania.  Amount 18,000 Euros
  • Funds received from the Caritas Antoniana, Italy, to sink a borehole in Kikuletwa, Arusha, Tanzania for the local community.  Amount, 13,000 Euros.
  • Funds received from the Seminar Italian Conference, Italy, for the support of ongoing formation for the sisters.  Amount, 7,967 Euros.
  • Funds received from Toronto, Canada, for education of two sisters studying Catechesis at Chemichemi ya Uzima in Kenya.  Amount, 6,700 Canadian dollars.
