HESA Orientation for new students, Fall 2016

HESA Orientation for new students entering Chemchemi Ya Uzima Institute, Regina Pacis University, Tangaza University and Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Fall 2016.

HESA held an orientation for new students entering Chemchemi Ya Uzima Institute, Regina Pacis University, Tangaza University Degree and Master’s program and Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) Degree and Master’s program in fall 2016.Orientation was held in Nairobi, Kenya from August 12 to the 15.

To begin day one, Sr. Lina Wanjiku welcomed the orientation giving an overview of ASEC programs. A spectrum of topics were covered to prepare the sisters for their upcoming studies. A session on communication was facilitated by Ms. Carlorine Gathaiya from Tangaza University. The topics of performance and commitment were facilitated by Rev. Dr. Bethuel Owuor from CUEA and an undergraduate goal setting session was facilitated by Sr. Vicenta from Tangaza University. Self- awareness and induction were facilitated by Sr. Elizabeth Nziwa from Regina Pacis University, Sr. Emma Njoroge from Chemchemi University and Sr. Candida Mukundi from Regina Pacis University.

Day two covered topics on study habits and the buddy system facilitated by Dr. Anne Rita from CUEA. To conclude the informational sessions Fr. Peter Gichure from CUEA presented on time management and university culture.

The purpose of orientation is to acclimate sisters to university study prior to beginning, as well as to set goals and expectations and establish an internal support system between the sisters.
